Seven Pillars for
Oye and Ikole

A concrete programme of representation and legislation built around the real challenges facing Oye and Ikole LGAs in Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1.

01

Rural Electrification and Power Security

Oye and Ikole communities deserve reliable electricity. We will sponsor a federal bill to extend the Rural Electrification Agency mandate to cover all 372 polling units across both LGAs, prioritise solar mini-grid deployment for farming communities, and fight for dedicated transformer upgrades in Oye-Ekiti, Isan-Ekiti, Ayede-Ekiti, and Ikole-Ekiti town centres.

02 🌾

Agriculture and Food Security

Ekiti North is farm country. Cocoa, yam, cassava and palm produce are the economic backbone of our constituency. We will secure a N5bn constituency development allocation for commodity storage facilities, lobby for a federal offtake programme for Oye and Ikole farmers, and push legislation to connect our produce to national and export markets through the Ekiti Agro-Allied Cargo Airport.

03 🎓

Education and the Federal University Oye-Ekiti

We are home to FUOYE, one of the newest federal universities in Nigeria. Yet our secondary schools lack teachers, laboratories and libraries. We will sponsor a bill to increase UBEC allocations to Ekiti North, fight for hostel and faculty expansion at FUOYE, and establish a constituency scholarship fund to send 100 indigent students to university annually.

04 🏥

Healthcare Access Across All Communities

The 28 communities in Oye LGA and the towns of Ikole LGA deserve functioning primary health centres. We will secure federal capital appropriations to rehabilitate all PHCs in both LGAs, advocate for specialist outreach clinics from the Federal Medical Centre Ido-Ekiti, and sponsor free medical missions quarterly across the constituency.

05 🛣️

Roads, Bridges and Rural Connectivity

The Oye-Isan-Ilupeju road, the Ikole-Oye township road and dozens of inter-community tracks are in a state of disrepair. We will appropriate constituency funds to critical feeder roads, lobby FERMA for the Oye-Ikole federal highway upgrades, and advocate for bridge construction across the Ero and Osun tributaries that isolate rural communities during the rainy season.

06 👷

Youth Employment and Vocational Training

Over 60 percent of our constituency is under 35 and unemployed or underemployed. We will establish a Constituency Skill Acquisition Centre in both Oye-Ekiti and Ikole-Ekiti, partner with NABTEB and the ITF to certify our youth in solar installation, masonry, ICT and agro-processing, and champion a federal youth cooperative fund to provide soft loans to young entrepreneurs.

07 ⚖️

Accountability, Transparency and Open Representation

For too long, constituency funds have been received with no visible projects. We will publish quarterly reports on all constituency allocations, hold monthly town hall meetings across Oye and Ikole, maintain an open-door office in both LGA headquarters, and submit all constituency projects to community oversight committees before implementation.
